Let’s help the orphaned children of Temba – a Nepalese Sherpa, who died tragically on Lhotse.
20.11.2012Temba Sherpa was 39 years old. He orphaned three children.
The youngest child, Lakpa Doma, is only 3 years old. Her brother, Dawa Sherpa, has turned 8 this year. Lucky Sherpa is 16 years old, what makes her the oldest orphaned child.
Their mother died tragically approximately 2 years ago. Their father has died on Lhotse this autumn.
Lucky, as the oldest one, has to take care of both the household and her siblings after their father’s death, while simultaneously trying to continue her education at school. When Lucky and her 8-year-old brother are at school, Lakpa, the youngest child, is left on her own and only neighbors and other children watch over her. All three of them live in a rented room in Kathmandu. The two oldest children attend paid schools as public system of education hardly exists in Nepal and if it functions, its level is far from being satisfactory.
Our Foundation would like to initiate fund rising for the orphaned children of Temba and thus, enable them to continue education in the present school. Tuition amounts to approximately 60 USD per month. In addition, our Foundation would like to help Lucky Sherpa in providing for her younger siblings and paying rent for the room, where all three of them live.
Temba Sherpa was an experienced climber and a known high-mountain guide. He has died tragically on Lhotse, while participating in a Polish expedition in autumn this year. Details of the event may be found at: polskihimalaizmzimowy.pl
Even the smallest amount of money will be of great importance for these three orphaned Nepalese children. Payments may be made on the Foundation’s webpage by clicking on a link: eng.fundacjakukuczki.pl
and choosing „osierocone dzieci”.
Moreover, 1% of one’s 2012 tax may be donated to the orphaned children.
