07.03.2012Today early in the morning Artur, Adam, Janusz and Shaheen have set off from camp 1 (5,900 m above sea level) and they plan to reach camp 3 (7,000 m above sea level).
They have ably reached the place of camp 2 before 10:00 AM. Unfortunately, the wind in the Japanese Couloir above camp 2 was too strong. As Adam put it: the wind blowing with 50-60 km/h or even up to 80 km/h was blowing them away from the couloir. The entire team returned to camp 2. Amazingly optimistic weather forecasts (considering winter in Karakoram) for Thursday and Friday (March 8 and 9) result in the fact that the team plans to try reaching camp 3 again. If the forecasts turn out to be true and the wind is not an obstacle in getting to camp 3, the guys will attempt the summit at night on 8th/9th March.
Greetings from the deserted base camp,
Agna in behalf of the entire team.
