The summit? 19th Report, March 5, 2012

We somehow managed to survive the hurricane that occurred during 4th-5th March. The base camp survived it, too. It is time to think about the summit. Unfortunately, weather forecasts for March do not fill us with hope. Hurricanes are going to reappear between 13th and 18th March. 8th March gives us a chance (forecasted wind speed – 40-50 km/h). 9th and 10th March are going to be windy, but not as windy as to hinder us from descending. In order to attack the summit on 8th March we have to set off immediately, i.e. 6th March, and skip camp 2, i.e. go from camp 1 directly to camp 3 on the same day. We are going to give it a try – we are setting off tomorrow morning.

Four of us are setting off: Adam, Artur, Janusz and Shaheen. Shaheen is already O.K. and full of life. Frostbitten Ali has descended to Skardu
